Cancer stigma is a great problem in South Africa, it touches all groups, ages and genders and impacts cancer patients daily.
With our current survey we aim to gain more information and insight into the role of cancer stigma in our communities.

The People Living With Cancer (PLWC) organization has a ‘Buddy’ project in place. Trained professionals and cancer survivors (Buddies), will be giving the caller and family immediate support, information and access to resources. This will empower them and ensure that they are not alone in their fight against cancer. They will assist the caller in navigating the complex health system associated with cancer care and ensure that they have enough support along their treatment trajectory. By lending your hand in this awareness project of PLWC, you will also be contributing to early detection and a cancer awareness project that will save the lives of cancer patients! The ‘Lend-your-Hand’ bracelet represents all cancers in its colourful presentation. Funds go to PLWC.
